News picturesX Factor runner-up Rhydian Roberts has been offered the lead in a musical based on Meat Loaf's Bat Out Of Hell.

Welshman Rhydian, 24, has been approached by composer Jim Steinman - the writer of the 1977 album - to front an epic show based on the songs.

Steinman, 60, reckons Bat Of Hell: The Musical will be one of the most ambitious live rock events ever staged. He said: "It's going to be spectacular. We're gonna have a giant jukebox... and motorcycle riders on high wires and all kinds of stuff going on."

A source said: "Jim got in touch with Rhyd after seeing him perform I Would Do Anything For Love. He believes Rhydian has the quirkiness and presence to pull it off."

The composer has hired cartoonist Gerald Scarfe - famous for his work on Pink Floyd's The Wall - to design the set for the show later this year.

Now girls SORRY to be a party pooper here BUT... Wink

As much as I'd like to see him in Phantom I would also dearly love to see him in a brand new musical esp.for him to play the lead.

If a NEW Phantom sequel is offered to him fair enough -otherwise if

"Bat Out Of Hell" is to be based on Meatloaf's songs ,which are amazing and like mini operettas wow, just imagine Rhyd's perorming with that voice AND IMAGINE him in black leathers on a Harley Davidson motor bike omg Embarassed Shock THUD

But what will be will be Sad

Hee hee Laughing Yes I do think that would be good. Rumour has it that the Phantom sequel is going to be pretty lame anyway...those who've read the book (I didn't even know there WAS one) said it's not that great. I'd rather Rhyd starred in the original one, or in something completely new....
